Located to the east of Lisbon’s Center, the Xabregas Palace is one of the biggest icons of Portuguese History, also known for having the biggest private colection of Portuguese Panels and for being the biggest Palace in Lisbon available for Events.

 

The Oriental area of Lisboa was in ancient time’s place of large estates that belonged to the nobility. At this same area, we will find one of the biggest traditional Palaces in Portugal. It was built at the end of 16th Century, by the renowned navigator, Tristão da Cunha, and it was one of the few buildings that has resisted to the 1755 earthquake.

 

In the centuries that followed this period, the owners of this Palace have accomplished great achievements in the Portuguese history. In the XVIII Century, Pedro da Cunha, has made important Works in the Palace, that transformed it in the building that it is nowadays.

 

The best artists of this period have done magnificent works with tiles, frescos and masonry. It has eight differently-sized rooms to choose from, including ballrooms, dining rooms and reception areas, all of which are steeped in lavish historical décor and boast the largest private collection of famous blue tiles. The building was classified as a National monument since 1987, and belongs to the same family for more than 500 years. Nowadays, this magnificent palace hosts many types of venues, without losing its original role as a family house.
