Venue Rental

 

Monserrate Rental Fee includes the use of:

Gardens of the Palace  – available from guests arrival through cocktail hour, for promenade and photos.

Palace Gallery (Corridor) and Main Entrance - from 6:00

Ruins - available for first look and the Couple’s photosession, ceremony but keep in mind that only seats comfortably 30/35 seated guests 

Palace Balcony -   available for the welcome, cocktail, cake cutting from 5:00pm

Palace Square – available for the welcome, the ceremony, cocktail, cake cutting, and first dance, from 5:00pm

Palace Music Room – available for ceremony, dinner, speeches (up to 60 guests), and cake cutting. This room is only accessible to the event from 6:00pm. Dancing is not permitted in this room

Hall of Columns – located in a separate contemporary building, available for dancing and cake cutting


 

If you wish to host both the ceremony and dinner in the Palace, in the Music Room, please consider an additional €1500 + VAT for logistics and Palace extension, as well as a minimum setup time of 1 hour and 30 minutes (during cocktail hour). Please also note that access to the Music Room is only possible from 6:00pm.


 

Price includes 7 hours of venue rental, from 5:00pm until 00:00. Time extension is possible with a surcharge. The Palace doesn’t allow events later than 2:00am

 

From 4:00pm, pre-ceremony first look and photo session is allowed for the couple, the photo and video team, and up to six additional persons, subject to the condition that visitors are not disturbed.

Security services – Palace security personnel will remain on site at all times and cannot be dismissed under any circumstances.

 

Permission to take wedding photographs and videos in the gardens and main areas of the Palace. After 6:00 pm, photography and videography are restricted to the exclusively rented areas.

FOOD: Smoked salmon mousse with toasts, mozzarella and tomato skewers, brie au gratin with jam, codfish fritters, veal croquettes, vegetarian samosas, crudités

  

 

3 COURSES MENU - Plated Service

 

On the table: selection of two breads, flatbread, olive oil 

 

FIRST COURSE (please select one) - Seafood Flan with green salad OR Puff pastry with ricotta cheese and nuts served with arugula salad (vegetarian) OR Codfish with corn bread in a bed of spinaches served with roasted potatoes and olive oil

SECOND COURSE (please select one) - Roast leg of lamb, mint sauce, crispy sweet potato and vegetable bundle OR Beef with wine cooked at low temperature, cherry tomatoes, celery, red onion and rice “carqueja” OR Vegetarian Risotto

 

DESSERT (please select) - Emulsion passion fruit with of black chocolate  OR Red fruit soup with ice cream (flavor at your choice)

Dinner in the Music Hall: 19:00-21:15

Music and Bar must finish at midnight and guests will be asked to leave afterwards

Ceremony and Dinner in the Music Room - Schedule

Arrival at the main Gate: 16:00

Walk towards the Palace trough Gardens: 16:30-17:00

Welcome in the square: 17:00-18:00

Ceremony in the Music Hall (indoors): 18:00-18:30

Cocktail indoors: 18:30-20:00

Music and Bar must finish at 01:00am and guests will be asked to leave afterwards 

You can extend the the event up to 2:00am

 

Please note that only the bridal car and vehicles transporting disabled guests, pregnant ladies, or elderly guests are permitted to drive from the main gate to the Palace. All other guests will walk from the main entrance to the Palace through the beautiful gardens of Monserrate. The pathway includes some steps, garden terrain, and uneven areas, so comfortable footwear is recommended for this walk and when exploring the gardens.

Price includes 7 hours of service, from 5:00pm until 00:00, except for the Ceremony and Dinner in the Music Room package, which will start at 5:00pm and will end at 1:00am. Time extension is possible with a surcharge. The Palace doesn’t allow events later than 2:00am. The extension must be booked previously and cannot be booked on the same day.

Extra hour of rental and services, after midnight: fixed fee for venue and service 1000€+vat per hour

The Palace closes to the public at 6:00pm and its gardens remain open to the public until 6:30pm. Please note that before 6:00 pm the Palace, and before 6:30 pm its gardens, are not available for exclusive hire.

 

The indoor rooms will only be accessible after 6:00pm (Palace closing time) 

 

Exceptionally, in the case of the Ceremony and Dinner in the Music Room package, the event will finish at 1:00am.

1. When will Monserrate Palace reopen for weddings?

Monserrate Palace will officially reopen for weddings in July 2027 following conservation and restoration works.

All bookings currently being accepted are for dates from July 2027 onward.

 

2. How do we secure our Monserrate Palace wedding date for 2027?

Due to limited annual availability and heritage regulations, early booking is strongly recommended.

To secure your Monserrate Palace wedding date, couples must request the official Monserrate Wedding Package proposal and confirm availability through Lisbon Wedding Planner.

Dates are allocated on a first-confirmed basis.

No. The Hall of Columns is located in a separate building from the main Palace.

Its contemporary design makes it ideal for:

  • DJ booth setup
     

  • Full dance floor production
     

This separation allows a vibrant party atmosphere while respecting preservation rules inside the Palace.

 

6. Can we dance inside the Music Room?

No. Dancing is not permitted inside the Music Room due to national monument preservation regulations.

All dancing takes place in the Hall of Columns.

 

7. What are the wedding timings at Monserrate Palace?
